Snow snow..slow

It's been really cold and snowing a lot here.
Actually, weather is nice today first time in past two weeks.
I hope spring came earlier and summer would be nice and hot this year.

I have been slow these days and I only made several headbands.
I am sure I am enjoying my new camera though :)
Here are the headbands taken by my new camera.

It captures lots of details and makes my camera technique look good :P
I am so satisfied with this camera!

Because I love it, I am putting more pictures.
Here we go!

Kotaro is tying really hard!

First creation of this year

Hi, how is your new year so far?
I got a new camera from my husband as a Christmas present and I am playing around with it for the last few days.
I really like taking pictures and the compact digital camera cannot do what I want, so I chose a digital SLC for my next one hoping to improve my camera skills.

First, I needed a camera case so I can take it outside to take pictures.
I took some rough measurements of the camera and made a first camera case.
It turned out good and I like it but need some touch ups.
I also made a matching cover for the strap and it looks much cuter and more comfortable: will sure use it for a while.
I think I am going to be a "Camera girl" (It's becoming popular in Japan).
So, watch out for the pictures!

These are the pictures I took with my new camera.
Even though I took them under crappy lighting, they still look 100times better than what I used to take with compact camera.

Happy New year!

Happy new year to you all!

All the busy days are now over, and I've got to have some rest.
This year's wish list..

*make lots of new designs
*make lots of stuff for my kids
*Finish the basement
*Finish the back yard
*Start doing nails
*Make my house comfortable for my family

I sure will participate in Handmade Mafia this year also, but not as many times as last year.
I am thinking about applying for the farmer's market in St. Albert in this summer.
The big change, the big challenge for this year will be the nail job.
I studied nails at the school in Vancouver, and I used to love doing nails, but after having kids and everything I didn't have enough time to practice nor even do my own nails done.
Nowadays, nails are getting popular here too and since Gel nails are taking place, I thought I might able to do nails again.
Gel nails are cured by UV light and you don't have to wait a day to the nails to get dry.
Your nails are ready to do anything after being cured 2min under the UV light.
That is a big plus especially for moms!
Lots of nail companies are producing all kinds of gel nail products and gels are getting better and better.
I want spread Japanese style nails around here:)
I am so excited about starting this project and I am sure I will do great.
Still need some time to practice and thinking but hoping to show my nails here.

Spring collections are coming soon...

What a busy day

Finally all the craft events are over for this year and it seemed like crazy days were calming down, but no, no, no.
I actually have a day to day tasks other than house work even though I am a stay-at -home-mom. Lots of sewing and thinking, designing (this is the most time consuming and the most difficult part).

Thanks to Christmas and the customers who adore my creations, I am getting busier and busier.
SaSa started in September 2009, and this year was a blast!
I am so happy that I could spread SaSa creations out there.
And also I thank every customer who came to see my crafts and who showed interest on my creations.
I made lots of connections and friends through the events this year.
I had so much fun:)
Not only I could sew (this is my hobby and stress releaser), but also there were people who buy my crafts and I can buy more materials for the next project!!!
I really wish this could become my full time work.

Anyways, I have to go back to my house work and then make more stuff (mostly custom ordered and I am going to start making Christmas presents).

Latest creation

I got a custom order from my friend last week.
She wanted a pair of ear muffs so I went out to look for something that can be the "base" of the ear muffs.
On that day, I couldn't find anything. What I was looking for was cheap but sturdy ear muffs that can be recovered.
Later on, I was sarching for some ideas to make ear muffs and I finally found it!

A clothing wire hanger!

What a brilliant idea!
Next day, I went to shopping again to buy some hangers.

Oh my goddness, I made a cutest ear muffs!
And also it fits just perfect. The best thing about this ear muffs is you can adjust the shape of it so it fits perfectly on your head. You don't have to suffer anymore bacause it's too tight or too loose.

I am very happy and feel confident about this ear muffs so I will make more for the next event.
